F.A.Q.IS WMIS A PRIVATE SCHOOL?
The WMIS is a state school. Families do not pay school fees.
IS WMIS A BILINGUAL SCHOOL?
WMIS is a bilingual school, which means that we teach the children in German and English. Children have a mother tongue and a partner language, and the respective language level is taken into account in lessons. Subjects such as art, maths, sport, history and science are taught by either German or English-speaking teachers.
HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD?
1ST GRADE
We accept children from internationally mobile families and children from families living permanently in Berlin per class; there are 10 places available in each class.
Enrolment and the language tests in English and German take place in October.
ALL OTHER GRADES
Admission from grades 2-8 is possible if the following points are met:
- There is an open place in the class
- You are a highly mobile family
- Your child meets the language requirements (English/German at mother-tongue level and/or English at a partner-tongue level)
